Add a Layer of Sun Safety to Your Summer with Window Films

At least 50% of the sun’s UV rays are capable of entering via windows in homes, businesses, and cars. These UV rays cause DNA damage to the skin, which can hasten the aging process (wrinkles, fine lines, etc.) and result in skin cancer. UV rays are also capable of seriously harming eyes and vision in addition to skin damage. Both UVA and UVB radiation have been directly linked to cataracts, the clouding of the eye’s natural lens (the focusing mechanism), which reduces vision. Macular degeneration, a prominent cause of vision loss in elderly Americans, is a result of long-term exposure to UVA rays. UV rays can also result in malignancies of the eyelids and conjunctiva, melanomas of the intraocular tissues, and benign growths on the conjunctiva in addition to these eye disorders that damage the eyes.

Windows of Residential, Commercial, and Automobiles are Protected from UV Radiation

The sides of people’s bodies that are closest to windows tend to have a lot more wrinkling, rough skin, and sagging than people who are not stationed near windows (such as those who work in business buildings or drivers). Residential and commercial window films provide an additional layer of defense against dangerous UVA and UVB radiation, improving health and safety for your family, coworkers, customers, furniture, and goods. Furthermore, window films for homes and businesses reduce glare by more than half and present a practical and cost-efficient alternative to window replacement for retrofitting rather than adding new ones. Although some passengers are partially protected from UVA rays by car windshields, this protection does not extend to all of them. Additionally, UV protection is not always guaranteed by the darker, untreated glass.
